Rooted in the Past -- Growing Into Our Future

From The Pastor

A thought ...

As Valentine's Day approaches, and the stores are stocked with big beautiful decorated boxes of sweet chocolates and soft plush teddy bears, we get a feeling that love is in the air!   We contemplate love.  We think about who we love and why we love them.   During this time, I would like to take a moment and encourage you to think about what love means to our Father in heaven.  We are told in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 what love is:  Love is patient, love is kind.  It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is nor self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects. always trusts, always hopes, always preserves.  Love never fails.

This year, as you give that special Valentine gift, to the love of your life, take a moment and reflect on God's love and how sweet and pure His love is toward us.  God is love and His love is perfect.
